Our 2012 challenge is "Flying Geese."
Jean issued a challenge to us to make anything, any size, we wish using the Flying Geese technique. The deadline for this is the March meeting.
NEW PROJECT: Our second challenge for 2012 is:
"A Day at Mardi Gras"
Mardi Gras colors: Bright Gold, Green and Purple
Jean has come up with a great challenge which will be due at our December 5, 2012 guild meeting. She has a piece of gorgeous fabric that she wants you to use and come up with you interpretation of "A Day at Mardi Gras". There isn't any set amount of the challenge fabric to use but it must be obvious to the viewer that it is the challenge fabric.
They may be any size, but not larger than 36" including the binding. It could be 25" x 36", etc. It does not have to be appliqué. Anything that shows the celebration of Mardi Gras! This can be fun - let your imagination run wild.
Along with your entry please include a full description, and the different methods you used in the project.
DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME on this or on the label. You can contact Jean by phone with any questions. Have fun with this!

TRAVEL

We all
have friends that we are close to but there are lots of friends you
don't know in the guild. I've heard it said that strangers are friends
that we haven't met yet.
Let’s plan some trips and get to know each other better.
The second trip that I am planning is the trip to Pigeon Forge in March. We go up on Monday and come back on Thursday. You don't need to stay that long but in order for us to go to all of the quilt shops that we like to go to it does take us that long. We see the quilt show on Wednesday and come home on Thursday. Call Chris if you have any questions.
Looking forward to serving you this year,
Chris, Travel Chairman.
Beginner/Refresher Classes
This
year so many of us want the emphasis to be
on enjoying ourselves and focusing on the good that is in each of us as
well as opportunities to try new quilting projects or workshops or maybe
even using our knowledge to help someone learn a new technique.
